Obituary of Madlyn Chessari

Madlyn Chessari Pine Bush, NY Madlyn Chessari, 84, of Pine Bush, NY passed away on Friday January 23, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She was 84. Madlyn was born in Newburgh, NY on January 7, 1931 to Violetta and Louis Oliva and was married to Joseph Chessari in 1950. Maddie, as she was always called, worked as a homemaker, taking great pride in caring for her family. Everyone will remember her famous cheesecake, her great passion for the New York Giants and watching her granddaughter play softball, for the Pine Bush Women's Softball League. Her love for her animals was never ending! Madlyn is survived by her daughter, Joann Brosnan, at home, granddaughter Toni Lynn Brosnan and her wife Lexi, of Pine Bush, grandson, Michael Brosnan of Portland, Oregon, nieces and nephews, John Chessari and Ellen Vandermark of Pine Bush; Anthony Chessari of Barryville, Michael Chessari of Paoli, Kansas, Joseph Chessari of Kingston, Amy Shaver of Florida, Rita McGuckin, of Myrtle Beach, and Mark Oliva of Cornwall. Also, many great-nieces, nephews, cousins and her beloved cat Skippy and dogs, Saddie, Colby and Penny. Madlyn is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Chessari, her parents, Violetta and Louis Oliva and her brother, Louis Oliva Jr. A special thank you to Pauline from Mid Hudson Managed Care and Carrie Averill for taking such good care of Maddie, your love and kindness will never be forgotten. Visitation will be held on Wednesday January 28, 2015 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. Burlingham Road, Pine Bush, NY 12566. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 8:30pm. Cremation will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial of ashes will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery in Montgomery at a later date.
