Obituary of Marie Anstey

Marie Anstey Pine Bush, NY Marie Anstey, a long time resident of the area, passed away on February 10, 2021. She was 98 years young.The daughter of the late Catherine and John Vengalli, she was born on March 4, 1922 in Manhattan, New York.Marie was a hardworking & loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and Aunt. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her knew what a spitfire of a woman she was, often being referred to as “Sophia” from the “Golden Girls”. She endured many hardships throughout her life yet always pushed through with resilience and her faith in God. Survivors include her daughter, Lynette Arlotta, and stepson, Bruce Anstey; grandchildren, Andrew Arlotta, Justine Arlotta-Ayala, Patricia Forestiero, Terri Perkins, Emanuel Forestiero, and Jennifer Anstey; great grandchildren, Andrew, Ashlyn, Gabriel, Zackary, Matthew, and Emily. She is further survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Marie is predeceased by her siblings, Salvatore Vengalli, Michael Vengalli and Rose DiMiceli; son and daughter-in-law, Fred and Irene Forestiero; son-in-law, Carmine Arlotta; great grandchildren, Raylyn Ayala, and Jovanna Ayala. Due to the current pandemic the family has decided to hold off on services at this time, however, a celebration of life will be planned for the future.
