Obituary of Janet Schwarting Stinson

Janet Schwarting-Stinson Summitville, NY Janet Schwarting-Stinson 66 passed on to be with her Lord, March 25, 2021 at her home in Summitville, New York following a battle with cancer. Ms. Stinson was born February 28, 1955 in Mineola, New York to Charles and Helen Schwarting. She moved with her family to the Mid Hudson Valley in 1960. Her passion for art led her to obtain her Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Art Education. Her career spanned 34 years, including the last 29 years with the Ellenville Central School District. Ms. Stinson loved to interact with people and touched all she came in contact with. She was a long time member of Family Church in Middletown, N.Y.. She loved camping, jewelry crafting, photography and gardening. She and her husband, Martin L. Stinson were married for 30 years. Survivors include her husband, 1 son, Craig Stinson in Albany, NY, 2 daughters, Deirdre McCarville of Newburgh, NY and Carah Stewart from Memphis, TN. 1 Son, Aaron Stinson predeceased her in 2011. She also leaves behind her Mother, Helen Schwarting as well as 4 Sisters and 1 Brother. She also is survived by 2 grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Those who knew her were forever touched by her kindness and gentle spirit and surely benefited from the years that God allowed her to be with us. She will be deeply missed. A Memorial service will be held at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home, 1525 Burlingham Road, Pine Bush NY on Saturday April 17, 2021 from 3 to 5 pm. All are welcome. Interment of ashes will be at Poplar Grove Cemetery in Phillipsport, NY and will be a private ceremony. Due to COVID-19 restrictions capacity is limited.
