I had Mr. White as a teacher for a Business class. I liked and respected him. He said two things in that class that I have never forgotten:
1. Regarding betting/gambling: paraphrased - it's okay to eat the betting money, but never bet the eating money
2. Regarding playing the lottery: paraphrased - the lotto is nothing more than a voluntary tax that I choose not to pay.
Rest in peace Mr. White. You had a positive impact on me and, I suspect, many other young minds.

I had the pleasure of meeting Bernie (my husband’s Grand-Uncle) on the 4th of July weekend. It was my first time seeing harness horse racing and I am glad I was able to share in that experience with him at the Goshen Historic Racetrack. From the very first second I met him, he was very social, warm and welcoming. Everyone at the racetrack was coming up to him to say hello and you could really tell he was a respected figure in the community. We shared lunch at their place that Heidi prepared; and he enjoyed extra beers that I sneaked to him - to which, he had the biggest smile on his face every time I did! I am sad that I won’t have the chance to meet him again, but I am very grateful for the day I got to spend with Bernie. I pray his soul is at peace, enjoying a bottomless pitcher of beers, and doing the things he loved. Sending strength and comfort to Heidi and family.

Proud Bushman we were when we beat Maybrook and won the championship. Floats and pep rallies galore. and our farm boys turned football players for our 6 man football team. Bernie was our star player in the good old fifties!!!!!!! Rest In Peace Bernie. Had a nice chat with you at Noras repast gathering. Little did we expect this to happen!!!
