Growing up as Kathy's older and only sister we had a typical childhood that grew into a deep bond after the death of our parents when Kathy was age 22 (Dad) and 27 (Mom). The seven years between us disappeared as we matured. Kathy was the first one I would call when my kids were little and she was still single, and she was always there for me. When I was working in DC, she would call me after a long night shift at the hospital and we would chat until she made it home. She loved my kids like they were her own, in fact her favorite saying was always - Kids and Animals - they always love me. We should all remember that is a sign of a true and loving character in a person. Getting ready for Christmas this year, I found myself reaching for my phone....I will miss those long FaceTime when we would be cooking or sewing or just to have a cup of tea long distance together. I do believe I will miss you for a long long time...but I WILL see you again. Until then - I'll be on the lookout for Angel Winks. Love you Kathy!

I first met Kathy when she became my preceptor when I started as a nurse at GSH back in 1992. She was a wonderfully organized and supportive friend. She hosted my baby shower which led to the many fun times our children spent together. I will miss her infectious laugh and giving heart.

You were my best friend when I was just a little boy, an influence that’s still felt to this day. Cruising around in your white Plymouth listening to Bon Jovi, Van Halen, Def Leppard, all your softball gear bouncing around that hatchback. Spending the night at your apartment watching History of the World, part 1 and Let’s Go Mets. I remember you took me to Shea Stadium to see the Mets play, Doc Gooden was pitching.
Sylvester and Tricia, The Bronx Zoo….all these things I miss, but now I miss you more. Love you so much.
I’ll wait for now until I can see you again.
Love, Mike

So sorry for your loss. Cathy was always laughing, smiling and tolerated all the stuff that goes along with being a boy mom. We will miss her warm quiet demeanor. Our thoughts are will you all. With love, John and Dawn Yoder
