Marguerite G. Holmes, a lifelong resident of the area, passed away on Wednesday July 12, 2023 at Montgomery Nursing Home. She was 87. The daughter of the late Hassie T. Holmes and Pearl Caston Holmes, she was born on September 12, 1935 in Pine Bush, NY. Marguerite worked for many years at Mastercraft Carvat (tie factory) in Pine Bush, and worked at Hodgson Farms in Walden.  Survivors include her several nieces and nephews;  Deborah Gihr Williams and Maurice Waldorf who have stayed in her life through out the years. She was a loving Aunt and caring person who loved all animals. Marguerite is further survived by her sister,  Rose Gihr, and predeceased by her brother, Robert Holmes, and sister Betty Waldorf. Visitation will on Tuesday July 18, 2023 from 10am-11am at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525 Burlingham Rd Pine Bush NY 12566. Graveside services and burial will be held at Bruynswick Rural Cemetery in Wallkill at 11:45am. Donations in her memory can be made to the Middletown or Walden Humane Society.
