Obituary of Elena C. Blake
Elena C. Blake
Pine Bush, NY
Elena C. Blake a longtime resident of Pine Bush passed away peacefully at home, Monday, June19th 2023. She was 80 years old. Elena was born June 22, 1942 in Arecibo , Puerto Rico to mother Josephine Soto and father Adolpho Rivera also of Puerto Rico, and moved to Brooklyn, NY in her early years."This will be the only testimony of her life that she will have on paper." She married and had two sons Bobby and Alex whom she loved, fed, clothed ,and cared for dearly. There is nothing that she wouldn’t have done for them. The love and care of her two sons was her number one mission in life. She would make apple pancakes and the best meals we could afford back in the days but we always ate very well. Elena was an accomplished seamstress who worked very long and hard to feed the family. A true professional, she could sew, mend, or fabricate anything, dresses, costumes, or pillows and the finest stuffed animals or sock people you've ever seen. Mom was a generous women who rarely asked anything for herself, Always a happy go lucky soul. She always maintained a positive attitude no matter the circumstances facing her and GOD knows she had lots on her plate. Mom was always a rock who took everything that life thru at her..She was truly one of the strongest woman I've ever met. So fond are my memories of my dearest mom... She liked to watch the "Price is Right" with her morning coffee and watch "Walker Texas Ranger". She loved her dog "Punky" who is with her now and Bobby’s dog, Razz who is also sharing her resting place and"Shana" who will be with her when her time comes...Mom would spend all day making thanksgiving dinner with a beautiful turkey and all the "Fixins." Elena "MOM" was a wonderful cook who make a Puerto Rican dinner of rice and beans and fried pork chops or chicken that would make your mouth water, "Just delicious" as me and mom used to say. Mom never wanted anything new and was always happy with what she had. Elena is predeceased by her sister "Ada", and her brother,"Mike" Elena is survived by her two loving sisters, Gloria Rivera of South Carolina and her sister Teresa Santiago also of South Carolina. Elena also leaves behind nephew, Mike Santiago of Arizona, niece Lori Lynn of South Carolina, and Luis Irizarry, of South Carolina, all of whom she loved her dearly. She will be sorely missed by all who loved her. Elena also leaves behind her two children Alex and oldest son Bobby. Elena was especially fond of her son Bobby who loved and cared for her in her in her golden years, and will be with her in her spot when his time is over. They were truly Best Friends and she always said "Pa, you are my Guardian Angel. Ma, If I could have saved time in a bottle, I would have saved every day. “I LOVE AND MISS YOU MA, GOD WANTED US TO WALK TOGETHER. Till we meet again, YOU WILL ALWAYS BE IN MY MIND, HEART AND SOUL.”
In Loving Memory
Elena Blake
