Annemarie Willard, 93, of Pine Bush, NY passed away on October 15, 2024 in Pine Bush, NY. Annemarie was born in Trier, Germany to Emil and Rosalia Gross on December 7, 1930. She completed high school and a seamstress apprenticeship in Germany. She worked as an Alterations Seamstress for Green’s Department Store until its closing. Annemarie was a member of Our Lady of Assumption Church, Bloomingburg, and a longtime member of the choir, annually singing her German Christmas Carols.
Annemarie was an avid hiker and trail maintenance volunteer throughout the Hudson Valley, especially Minnewaska State Park. She enjoyed cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, swimming and Vermont Biking Tours. She was a member of the Pine Bush Seniors, Mamakating Seniors, the Chain Gang Knitters and an Encore participant at SUNY Orange. Annemarie traveled at every opportunity with her extended family, claiming both Ogunquit, ME and LBI, NJ as her favorites. Annemarie will be remembered for both her Sauerbraten and Corned Beef family gatherings as well as volumes of potato salad for any occasion.
Annemarie is survived by her daughters Patricia Willard and Anna Cesca and husband Kenneth; her grandson Adam Bruce; her granddaughter-in-love Lori Cesca; her great granddaughter Megan Grass and husband Adam; her great grandsons Devon Cesca and Nicholas Cesca; her niece Ingrid Siegemeyer and nephew Michael Gross of Germany. Annemarie is predeceased in death by her husband Mark E. Willard; her great, great grandson Colton Kenneth Grass; her sister Margarete Gross; her brothers Emil Gross and Karl Gross. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Paul’s Church on October 24, 2024 at 10:00 AM with Reverend Fr. Sean Paul Harlow of St. Paul’s Church officiating. Gagan Funeral Home, Pine Bush, NY will be handling the funeral arrangements.
