Daniel Lewis Coykendall, 84, of Walker Valley, NY, passed away on December 22, 2024 with his life-partner, Barbara Palinkas, and his granddaughter, Sydney Palinkas, by his side. Daniel was born in Walden, NY, to Roy and Grace Coykendall on December 25, 1939. Daniel is a proud veteran of the United States Army. He retired from IBM after more than thirty years of dedicated service. During his years of retirement, in addition to spending time traveling with Barbara, Dan enjoyed fishing, wood-carving, hunting, spending time with his grandchildren, and dancing. As a patient, he even danced with some of the nurses at Garnett Hospital. He was proud of the awards he received for fishing and marksmanship, as well as the awards he received from his time at IBM. Dan is survived by his life-partner, Barbara Palinkas of Walker Valley, his children: Kelli Ann Coykendall (Bo) of Marietta, Georgia; James Michael Coykendall (Sheila) of Leeds, Alabama; Daniel Charles Coykendall (Kelly) of Buffalo, NY.; his grandsons: Daniel Richard Coykendall and Jeremy Hunter Coykendall; his great grandchildren: Daniel James Coykendall and Louis Gabriel Coykendall and other extended family. His adopted family includes: Lauren Carnevali, Kelli, Andy, Chris, and Jodi Palinkas and grandchildren: Sydney, Alyssa, Jovan, and Meryl Palinkas, John Carnevali, and Sam and Gideon Levine. Dan is predeceased by his parents: Roy and Grace Coykendall, his brothers: Roy and Arthur Coykendall, his sisters: Bitsy Kirk and Lynn Coykendall, his grandson: Ken McKay. Celebration of life will be held on Saturday December 28, 2024 from 2-5pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525 Burlingham Rd Pine Bush NY. Memorial donations in his name may be made to: Hudson Valley Hospice Foundation Department, 80 Washington Street, Poughkeepsie, NY, 12601.Arrangements entrusted to the William M.
