Obituary of Jose R. Gaspar

Jose R. Gaspar Bloomingburg, NY Jose R. Gaspar, a Retired Construction Carpenter with Local 964, and 18 year resident, passed away at Orange Regional Medical Center on Wednesday February 25, 2015. He was 86. The son of the late Antonio Almeida and Maria Joaquina Roque, he was born on January 18, 1929 in Janerio De Baixo, Portugal. Jose was a member of St. Paul's RC Church in Bullville and Local 964. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather. Jose also had a passion for making wine and taught everyone how to drive. He was a quiet, peaceful, gentle , sweet, loving man who adored his family. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Maria at home, his 5 children; Frank Gaspar and his wife Patricia of Cortlandt Manor, Jose R. Gaspar Jr. And his wife Janet of Bloomingburg, Jaime Gaspar of Florida, Maria Arlette Gaspar of Bloomingburg, and Christina Gaspar of Washington DC. 4 grandchildren; Jennifer Schreiner and husband Mark of Raleigh, NC, Jeffery Gaspar and wife Lauren of Cortlandt Manor, Brandan Gaspar and wife Suzanne of Middletown, and Christopher Gaspar of Bloomingburg. 3 great grandchildren; Charlotte, Elizabeth and Rosina, and 1 great grandchild on the way. Jose is further survived by his 2 sisters; Lourdes and Prazeres of Portugal, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation will be held on Sunday March 1, 2015 from 2-5pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525 Burlingham Rd Pine Bush, NY. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday March 2, 2015 at 10am at St. Paul's RC Church in Bullville. Cremation will be private.
