Obituary of Herbert J Glass

Herbert J. Glass Herbert J. Glass, a longtime resident of the area, died Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at O.R.M.C., Arden Hill Campus, Goshen. He was 90. The son of Herbert Glass and Elsie Shura Glass, he was born May 3, 1916 in Jamaica, Queens, N.Y. He was the husband of Viola Anderson Glass. Mr. Glass was an Antique Dealer and Consultant. He was a World War II Veteran, serving in the Military Police; he was a former member of the Circleville Fire Dept.; he was a former Chairman for the Orange County Airport Commission; he was a former Chairman for the Police Honor Awards Committee for the Times Herald-Record; a member of numerous professional organizations nationwide. Survivors include his wife, Viola; son, Herbert Jr. and wife, MaryAnne of Pine Bush; daughter, Ellen Crocker and husband, John of Santa Rosa, Calif.; four grandchildren, Zan Barr of Windsor, Calif., Andrew Glass of Wurtsboro, Alex Crocker of Davis, Calif., and Sean Crocker of Santa Rosa, Calif.; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Gilbert Glass of Hurley. He was predeceased by his brother, Everett Glass. There will be no visitation. Private Funeral Services were held on Friday, April 6, 2007 at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home, 1525 Burlingham Road, Pine Bush, with Pastor Amanda Iahn officiating. Arrangements were made by the William M. Gagan Funeral Home, Inc.
