John W. Grau Jr, a 20 year Retiree of Channel Master Corp and a
Senior SHTA with Mid Hudson Forensic Psych Center, and a longtime
resident of the area, passed away on Friday August 13, 2010 at ORMC
Horton Campus. He was 77. The son of the late John W.
Grau Sr and Margaret G. Sehrig, he was born on October 28, 1932 in
Bronx, NY. John served his country from 1951-1955 in the US
Navy and received the rank of HM3 on the USS Gregory. He was an
avid golfer, and belonged to the Four Lakes Country Club in Winter
haven Florida, the Walker Valley Golf Course; he was a member of
the Tri State Naval VFW Post 7241 in Port Jervis, he coached a
Senior League and a Little League Team, and a women's softball team
in Ellenville known as the "Grau Fraus." Survivors include
his wife of 53 years, M. Jeanne Manouse Grau at home, his children
Karen A. Myers and her husband Aaron of Florida, John Grau III and
his wife Maryanne of Delaware, Thomas P. Grau and his wife Kathryn
of Pennsylvania, Lori J. Bulluss and her husband Michael of
Montana, Susan M. Sevens of Walker Valley, Jennifer L. Black and
her husband James of California, and Jeffery M. Grau and his wife
Jeanine of New Jersey. John is further survived by his
brother Frederic W. Grau and his wife Marion of Walker Valley, 15
Grandchildren, and 3 Great Grandchildren, and numerous nieces and
nephews. Visitation will be held on Wednesday August 18, 2010
from 5-8pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525
Burlingham RD Pine Bush, NY. Funeral Services will take place
during the visitation at 7:30pm at the funeral home.
Cremation will be at Cedar Hill Crematory. In lieu of flowers,
please make contributions to the Tri State Naval VFW Post 7241, 46
Barcelow Street, Port Jervis, NY 12771. Arrangements entrusted to
