Obituary of Hassie T. Holmes

Hassie T. Holmes Pine Bush, N.Y. Hassie T. Holmes, a lifelong resident of the area, passed away, Wednesday, November 22, 2006 at his home. He was 95. The son of Charles Holmes and Elizabeth Daniels Holmes, he was born July 5, 1911 in Walden. He was the husband of the late Pearl Caston Holmes. Hassie was a retired Farmer for Holmes Farm in Wallkill. Survivors include his loving daughters, Marguerite Holmes of Pine Bush, Betty Waldorf of Cuddebackville and Rose Gihr of Pine Bush; loving companion for 30 years, Louise Martell also of Pine Bush; five grandchildren, Pearl, Ada, Maurice, Otto and loving granddaughter, Debbie Williams and her husband, George; eight great grandchildren; also many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Pearl Caston Holmes; son Robert Holmes; grandson, Arnold Waldorf; two sisters; and one brother. Visitation will be on Sunday, November 26, 2006 from 2-5 p.m. at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home, 1525 Burlingham Road, Pine Bush. Funeral service will be on Monday, November 27, 2006 at 10 a.m. at the Funeral Home, with Pastor Robert Hewitt officiating. Burial will be in Bruynswick Rural Cemetery.
