William H. Johnson Thompson Ridge, NY William H. Johnson, a longtime resident of the area, and retired Manager for IBM, died Sunday, May 25, 2008 at Valley View Health Care Facility in Goshen. He was 73. The son of the late William Johnson and Ethel Higham Johnson was born August 16, 1934 in Pennsylvania. Bill was a devoted member of the Hopewell Presbyterian Church, and also a Deacon, Elder, and Treasurer. He was a lover of the railroad and a big history buff. Bill was a devoted grandfather to his three loving grandchildren, a loving husband and father. He also was considered a vacation comedian. He will be greatly missed and is dearly loved. A special thanks to the nursing staff in Glenmere, 2 at Valley View. He is survived by his loving wife, Elsie Rumpf Johnson, at home; loving son, David Johnson and his wife, Cynthia of Walden; three loving grandchildren: Michael, Alex, and Jenette; one loving niece, Cindy Prince of White Sulphur Springs, NY; one loving nephew, Robert Moorhead of Pine Bush, NY; loving great-nephews, Robert and John Moorhead, and several loving cousins. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 28, from 7-9 p.m. at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home, 1525 Burlingham Rd., Pine Bush, NY 12566. Memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 29, at 11 a.m. at The Hopewell Presbyterian Church in Thompson Ridge, with Pastor Robin Hogle officiating. Cremation took place at Cedar Hill Crematory.
