Obituary of Stanley Konefal

Konefal, Stanley Stanley Konefal, a retired Master Bricklayer for local #44, Bricklayer and Allied Craftsman Union, Poughkeepsie, N.Y., and lifetime resident of the area, died Tuesday, March 14, 2006 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Horton Campus, Middletown, N.Y. He was 82. The son of John Konefal and Marianna Gusciora Konefal, he was born July 24, 1923 in Passaic, N.J. Stanley was a member of Church of the Infant Saviour, Pine Bush, N.Y.; a former Councilman for the Town of Crawford; and former member of the Beaver Brook Rod and Gun Club. He was a loving father and a wonderful grandfather. He was a former avid bowler and enjoyed gardening. He was the widower of Lois Moran Konefal. He is survived by his beloved daughter, Susan Konefal Mohen of Garden City, N.Y.; his loving grandchildren: Joseph and Kelly Mohen of Garden City, N.Y.; three loving sisters: Stella Winnie and husband, Herbert, of Hurley, N.Y., Irene Firmbach of Kingston, N.Y., and Helen Bartlett of Walden, N.Y.; a loving brother, Walter Konefal and his wife, Mary, of Pine Bush, N.Y.; and several beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his sister, Filomena McClory and two brothers, Adam Konefal and Peter Konefal. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 17, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home, Inc., 1525 Burlingham Rd., Pine Bush, N.Y. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 18 at 10 a.m. at Church of the Infant Saviour, Route 302, Pine Bush, N.Y. with Father Kevin Gallagher officiating. Burial will be in the family plot at New Prospect Cemetery, Pine Bush, N.Y. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pine Bush Volunteer Ambulance Corps, P.O.
