Obituary of Walter Cooley

Walter D. Cooley Walter D. Cooley, a retired custodian for the Crispbell Middle School in Pine Bush after 35 years of service and lifetime area resident, died Thursday, March 16, 2006 at ORMC, Horton Campus, Middletown. He was 70. The son of David Cooley and Marion Baker Cooley, he was born Oct. 19, 1935 in Middletown. He was a member of the Pine Bush United Methodist Church, honorary member of the Pine Bush Fire Dept., member of School and Library Union Local #74 and Walker Valley Senior Citizens. Survivors include his beloved wife Dolores Lanoce Cooley at home; his loving daughters, Gail Forkin and husband Eddie of the Bronx, Lori Benedict and husband Bruce of the Bronx, Gloria Helms and husband Gene of Bullville; six beloved grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Visitation will be held on Sun. March 19 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home, Inc., 1525 Burlingham Rd., Pine Bush. Funeral services will be held on Mon. March 20 at 10 a.m. the funeral home, with Pastor Paul Vanderkruik officiating. Burial will be in the family plot at New Prospect Cemetery, Pine Bush.
