Raymond J. Murphy, a longtime resident of the area, passed away at his home on Sunday May 16, 2010. He was 71. The son of the late James Murphy and Elizabeth Lubeck Murphy, he was born on April 16, 1939 in Jersey City, NJ. Ray owned a locksmith shop in the Bronx, and retired in 2002 from Wakefern Food Corp. in Middletown. A family statement reads “Ray lived for his family and loved doing for people. He truly was a family man.” Survivors include Rose Murphy of Ramapo, daughter April Thomas and son in law Tom O’Neill of Bloomingburg, son Raymond Murphy Jr. of Chester, granddaughter Melissa Thomas and her boyfriend Robert Woods of Bloomingburg, grandson Michael Thomas of Bloomingburg, and also survived by his brothers. Raymond is predeceased by his daughter Dawn Murphy, and his brothers, and sister. Visitation will be held on Friday May 21, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525 Burlingham RD, Pine Bush NY. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday May 22, 2010 at 11:00am at the Church of the Infant Saviour with Fr.
