Ronald J. Nemetz Bloomingburg, NY Ronald J. Nemetz, a retired Electrician for Local 363 in New City, and a 40 year resident of the area, passed away on Saturday May 22, 2010 at ORMC Horton Campus. He was 75. The son of the late John Nemetz and Helen Sage Nemetz, he was born on July 26, 1934 in Jersey City, NJ. Ronald was the Chief of the New Milford Fire Dept. in NJ in 1967, the very First Chief of the Bullville Fire Department in 1970, and was the Fire Commissioner of the Bullville Fire Dept. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Mary Ann at home, his children, John Nemetz and his wife Chrissy of Colorado, Donald Nemetz and his wife Sharon of Missouri, Judy Romer and her husband Mark of Alabama, and Elizabeth Chaney of Bullville. He is further survived by his 21 grandchildren including 3 grandchildren who hold a special place in his life, Brett, Margaux and Kymberlee Potter, as well as his 6 great-grandchildren. Ronald is also survived by his brother Robert Nemetz and his wife Isobel of PA, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Thursday May 27, 2010 from 6-9pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525 Burlingham RD Pine Bush, NY. Firematic Services will be conducted by the Bullville Fire Department at 7:30pm. Cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Crematory in Newburgh. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the New Jersey Fireman’s Home, 565 Lathrop Avenue, Boonton, NJ, 07005.
