FLORENCE M. PADAVANO June 18, 1924 - June 4, 2014 Peoria, Arizona - Formerly of Pine Bush, NY Florence M. Padavano, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, entered into eternal rest on June 4, 2014 after a long illness. Florence was a giving soul who freely gave her time to help others. During World War II, she helped her country by working at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. During her 60 year residence in Pine Bush, Florence was an active member and past president of the Women's Auxiliary of VFW Post 5492 Pine Bush. She was also an active member and past president of the American Legion Auxiliary, G. Paul Bettinger Post 1308 Pine Bush. Florence worked at the Pine Bush Tie Factory for many years and later in life she was a School Bus Driver for First Student School Bus Company who enjoyed her time interacting with handicap children as she drove them to school. She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph J. Padavano whom she married on March 24, 1945 at St. Augustine Parish in Brooklyn, NY. Florence is survived by her children: Ronald Padavano and his wife, Elvira of Goshen, NY, Carol Rauscher and her husband, William of Reading, VT, James Padavano and his wife, Susan of Sedona, AZ, and Denise Padavano of Peoria, AZ. She is survived by her grandchildren: Melissa Kaloz and her husband, Steven, Jaime Hansen and her husband, Tory, Tasha Manganelli and her husband, Scott, Nathan Rauscher, Anthony Padavano, Jonathan Rauscher and his wife, Sarah, Julianna Desmarais and her husband, Jason, and Sarah Rauscher. She is also survived by nine great grandchildren. Friends are invited to call from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 14th at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home, 1525 Burlingham Road, Pine Bush NY. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12 noon at the Church of the Infant Savior, Route 302, Pine Bush, NY. Burial will be in Orange County Veterans Cemetery in Goshen, NY.
