Leif P. Pedersen a Carpenter and longtime resident of the area, passed away on Saturday April 25, 2009 at Montgomery Nursing Home. He was 77. The son of the late Magnus Pedersen and Olivia Olsen Pedersen he was born on July 14, 1931 in Brooklyn, NY. A Veteran of the Korean War, Leif served his country in the US Army. Leif was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Walden, and the American Legion. Survivors include his loving daughters, Sandra Amaturo of Pine Bush, and Linda Auer of Inverness Florida, loving grandchildren, Tracy Buckridge and her husband Michael of Pine Bush, NY and Charles Amaturo of Inverness Florida, 4 loving great grandchildren, 2 loving sisters Astrid Solberg and Odny Velle of Norway, and many loving nieces and nephews. Leif is predeceased by his wife Delores. Visitation will be held on Tuesday April 28, 2009 from 11:00am – 12:00pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525 Burlingham Rd Pine Bush, NY. Funeral services will take place at 12:00pm at the funeral home with Pastor Raymond Cummings officiating. Burial will take place in New Prospect Cemetery.Memorial Donations can be made in Leif's name to: The American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
