July 27, 1931 - May 20, 2014
Ruth O. Pedersen, a 5 year resident of the area, formerly
of Nanuet, passed away at her home on Tuesday, May 20,
2014. She was 82. The daughter of the late Sigurd and
Ester Korsnes, she was born on July 27, 1931 in Brooklyn, NY.
Ruth was an Administrative Assistant for Grace Baptist Church in
Nanuet, NY and also a long time parishioner where she enjoyed being
a Sunday school teacher for over 30 years. Survivors include
her children; Roger Pedersen and his wife MaryJane of
Montclair, NJ; Linda Higgins and her husband John of Pine
Bush, and Glenn Pedersen and his wife Lisa of Montgomery; 10
grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; brother Edwin Korsnes and
his wife Mary of Staten Island, and many nieces and nephews.
Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Pedersen. A memorial
service will be held on Sunday June 1, 2014 at 2:30pm at Harmony
Baptist Church,1790 Route 211 E, Middletown, NY 10941 with Pastor
John Hawco officiating. Memorial donations can be made to Hospice
of Orange and Sullivan Counties, 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh NY
