Arthur Redder, age 95, resident of the Town of Shawangunk,
Ulster County,passed away on February 1, 2011 at Orange Regional
Medical Center-Horton Campus. The son of the late Ludwig and
Johanna Redder, he was born onSeptember 14, 1915, in Brooklyn,
N.Y., and graduated from Newtown High School. He was drafted into
the U.S. Army prior to Pearl Harbor and was honorably discharged in
September, 1945, having received four bronze stars. Upon returning
home from the service, he was employed by Civil Services as a
superintendent at a large housing project in New York City.
At age 50, he retired and returned to the Town of Shawangunk to
reside, until the Lord called him home. He was a long time
member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Walden.
Survivors include his brother, Burnet, and wife, Marilyn;
nephew Bruce Redder and wife Katy of Milton, NY, niece
Barbara Rhoads and husband, Bryan and their children, Allison and
Andrea, of Pine Bush, N.Y. Also, niece Aline Glifort and
husband Herbert, nephews, Lawrence Haje and wife, Romaine and
Roy Haje and wife, Carole .Arthur was predeceased by his wife,
Frieda, his brother, Fred Redder and his sister, Helen Haje.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM on Friday, February
4that the William M. Gagan Funeral Home, 1525 Burlingham
Rd., Pine Bush, N.Y. Funeral Services will be held on
Saturday, February 5th at 9:30AM at the funeral
home. Burial in the family plot at New Prospect
Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to
the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Rt.208, Walden, N.Y.
