Obituary of Lucia Rein
Please share a memory of Lucia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Lucia Rein
Pine Bush, NY
With Angel's wings, Lucia Rein passed through the gates of
Heaven, into the arms of our Lord on 17 May 2014. She was
surrounded by the Love and support of her many Family and Friends.
She continues to be a powerful force of Light and Love that was
intensely felt by all who were fortunate to know her this side of
Heaven. She was 49 years old. Lucy started her courageous fight
against Stage 4 breast cancer in 2008, after recently becoming an
American Citizen and while attending Orange County Community
College. With her indefatigable will to live, unwavering faith in
God, the Love and Prayers of her Family, Friends and many
supporters, she sought treatment and triumphed for over 5 years
against this horrendously determined disease. Yet even throughout
her struggles she subtly, but valiantly, reached out to others
affected by terminal disease. Lucia's smile could pull anyone into
her warm spirit, she encouraged others by participating and
supporting many organizations. The Relay for Life, Allyson Whitney
Foundation, Celebrate Life and the Inheritance of Hope that support
those facing a terminal illness. Lucy was a member of and worked in
the office for the Church of the Infant Savior, while also serving
as a Eucharistic minister and religious education teacher. She was
born on 15 January 1965 in Toronto, Canada to Michael Fronte and
Giovanna DiPietro Fronte. At the age of 13 Lucy's family moved to
California where she graduated from La Sierra High School in 1983.
She became a Navy wife and moved to Japan. Her son David was born.
Transferred to Brunswick Maine, where her son Michael was born.
While living in Maine for over 7 years Lucy met her devoted
husband Albert. They were married in 1994, after moving to New
York, where their son Albert III was born. Married for 19
years Albert and Lucia raised David, Michael and Albert in Pine
Bush NY. It is Lucia's inherent nature, as a
Guardian-Protector, to deeply value those around her. Especially
her Boys. Always concerned with making every day exceptional for
them. This brought her joy. She is a faithful tri-service (Navy,
Air Force & Army) wife and mother, who deftly carried out these
duties, for her husband and children as only she could. Lucy loved
to dance, sing, read, hike, power walks, tend her garden and laugh
with whomever was around. Her beautiful smile and infectious laugh
was true happiness to behold. Lucia leaves behind her sons;
David Haffner, his wife Graziella and their two sons Lorenzo &
Santino of Woodbourne, NY. Michael Haffner, his wife Lisa and their
daughter Ruthie Faye of Wappingers Falls, NY. At home
Lucia leaves her husband Albert and youngest son Albert III of Pine
Bush, NY. Her mother and father Michael Fronte and Giovanna
DiPietro Fronte of California. Her sister Sarah and John Schaffner
of Nevada; Her brother Peter Fronte and his wife Elizabeth, and her
sister Mary Negrette of California. In addition to those
above, Her in-law's Albert & Annette Rein, Andrew and Maria
Rein, Anthony and Jen Rein , Anita Rein, Alissa Rein,
Angela Rein , Aimee Rein ,Alex Rein all of Monticello N.Y.
and Aaron Rein of New York N.Y. and Agustin Rein of Brooklyn NY.
Lucy will also be deeply missed by her 7 nieces and 10 nephews.
Worldwide… from Canada, California, New York and Sicily Lucy has
many beloved Cousins, Aunts, and Uncles as well as Friends. All
truly cherish by her but, too many to list here. A funeral
mass will be celebrated on Saturday 31 May 2014 at 11 am at the
Church of the Infant savior with Fr. Kevin Gallagher and Deacon
Dominic Buonocore officiating. Memorial donations may be made
to Inheritance of Hope, http://inheritanceofhope.org/ a charity
that very close to Lucia's heart. In 2009 Lucy was a recipient of
an Inheritance of Hope Legacy Retreat, and as true Blessings would
have it, her son Michael met his wife Lisa while attending.
