Michael R. Schweikle, a longtime resident of the area, passed away at ORMC Horton Campus, after a long illness. He was 67. Michael was born on October 13, 1942 in Williamsport, PA. and served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War., He later worked for The Chrysler Corporation, Mopar Division, in Tappan, NY from which he retired. Before his illness, Michael had a passion for Mopar and his Chrysler 5th Avenue, in which he won several trophies from by entering it into car shows. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and loved the outdoors and gardening. Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Anna Mae, at home, his 2 children, Hope DeVito of Middletown, and Beth Barnao and her husband Phil of Pine Bush. Michael is further survived by his 5 grandchildren, nieces and nephews, his brother John McGee of Lincoln Park, NJ and his mother Mary McGee of Pequanick, NJ. Michael is predeceased by his father Glen Schweikle, step father John McGee, and his sister Suzanne Boylan. Visitation will be held on Sunday July 11, 2010 from 2-5pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home, 1525 Burlingham RD Pine Bush. Funeral services will take place on Monday July 12, 2010 at 11:00am at the funeral home with Fr. Kevin Gallagher officiating.
