Ludwig E. Takacs
Thompson Ridge, NY
Ludwig E. Takacs, a retired carpenter for Local Union 19 in
Newburgh and 48 year resident of the area passed, away at his home
on Wednesday February 13, 2013. He was 80. The son of
the late Franz Takacs and Emelia Juron Takacs, he was born in
Pressburg, Slovakia but was raised in Linz, Austria. Ludwig was a
member of the German Club in Ossining and in Middletown, and served
his county from 1956-1958 in the US Navy. Survivors include
his children; Brunhilde "Brony" Walsh of Florida, Ludwig "Lucky"
Takacs of Bethel, NY and Erika Karmolinski and her husband Darren
of Walker Valley, 5 grandchildren; Christopher and Patrick Walsh,
Louis Takacs, and Travis and Dylan Karmolinski, 2 great
grandchildren, Joseph and Mariah Walsh, brother, Karl Takacs and
wife Tuyet of Louisiana, sisters; Annie Hager and husband Kurt and
Helene Gaudiner and husband Mitch both of Wappinger Falls, NY, and
further survived by and many nieces and nephews. Ludwig
is predeceased by his wife Dorothy, and brothers, Franz and Joseph
Takacs. Visitation will be held on Monday February 18, 2013
from 6-8pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525
Burlingham Rd Pine Bush. Funeral services will be offered on
Tuesday February 19, 2013 at 11am at the funeral home with Fr.
Kevin Gallagher officiating. Burial will take place in the family
plot in New Prospect Cemetery. Donations can be made to the
Mesothelioma Research Foundation of America, 5716 Corsa Ave, Suite
203, West Lake Village, California, 91362. Arrangements
