Watson "Doc" VanDunk Jr. Watson "Doc" VanDunk, Jr. of Bloomingburg, died October 21, 2006 at Albert Einstein Medical Center in the Bronx, N.Y. He was 71 years old. The son of Watson VanDunk, Sr. and Ellen Meade Jennings, he was born March 25, 1935 in Suffern, N.Y. He married Julia Degraw VanDunk in June of 1974. He worked for Robert Young & Sons Asphalt Paving for 45 years. Before he passed, Watson resided at Park Manor Nursing Home in Middletown, N.Y. He loved to fish and hunt. Survivors include his wife, Julia VanDunk, at home; son, Watson "Sonny" VanDunk of Middletown; four daughters: Brenda VanDunk of Spring Valley, Pricilla "Penny" VanDunk of Spring Valley, Sarah "Cookie" VanDunk and John Stach, Sr., of Middletown, and Thelma Latta and husband, Gordan, of Haverstraw; two stepsons, Allan Degraw and wife, Carla, of Rock Hill and Henry Degraw and wife, Annette, of Iowa; two sisters, Sarah VanDunk of Pamona and Janet VanDunk Hartwell of Suffern, and one brother, David Dennison of Leona, N.J. Watson also has 27 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his granddaughter, Mariah Degraw. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, November 5, 2006 at 2 p.m. at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home, Inc., 1525 Burlingham Rd., Pine Bush, N.Y., with Pastor Robin Hogle officiating.
