Obituary of Robert L. Vollano

Robert L. Vollano, a Nuclear Medicine Technologist with Middletown Medical, passed away at his home on Tuesday June 23, 2009. He was 60. The son of Carmela Vollano Bombara and the late Louis Vollano, he was born on December 28, 1948 in Brooklyn, NY. Robert was an active member and past Chief, Treasurer and Safety officer of the Summitville Fire Company and a member of the Community Church of Wurtsboro. Bob was a devoted husband, loving father, and grandfather (Pop-Pop). He had more courage than anyone and lived life to the fullest in spite of his long term battle with kidney disease. He was a kind man who was loved and respected by many and always willing to teach and share his knowledge at home, work, and in the fire department. Survivors include his wife Kathy at home, 2 children, Lisa Michel and her husband Mark, and Scott Vollano and his wife Erica, 5 grandchildren, Ethan, Connor, Nicholas, Jonathan, and Isabella Rose, his mother Carmella Vollano Bombara and step father John Bombara, his in laws, Arthur and Dorothy Beach, his brother, Lawrence Vollano and his wife Barbara,and their children Lauren and Larry Pat, His brother in law James Beach and his children, Greg and his wife Izabela Beach, and Kara Zonies and her husband Kris. Visitation will be held on Friday June 26, 2009 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home, 1525 Burlingham Rd, Pine Bush, NY. Firematic Service will be conducted at 7:30pm. Funeral Service will take place on Saturday June 27, 2009 at 11:00am at the Community Church of Wurtsboro, 134 Sullivan Street Wurtsboro, NY, with Pastor Robert P. Meyer officiating. Cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Crematory in Newburgh. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Summitville Fire District, PO Box 140, Summitville, NY 12781.
