Helen M. West a Retired Supervisor for Alexanders in NYC and a
longtime resident of the area, passed away on Thursday July 31,
2014 at ORMC in Middletown. She was 97. The daughter of
the late John J. Gallagher and Matilda Roll Gallagher, she was born
on November 26, 1916 in Bronx, NY. Survivors include her
children; William West of Brewster, NY; Stephen West and his wife
Anne of Richmondville, NY, and Lorraine West of Pine Bush, NY. 4
grandchildren; Suzanne Maraglio and her husband Matthew of
Germantown, NY, Christine Costello and her husband Gerald of
Brewster, NY, Timothy West and his wife Mahria of Massachusetts,
and Matthew West of Albany. 3 great grandchildren; Connor, Katie
and Brayden, 2 nieces and 3 nephews. Helen is predeceased by her
husband Walter A. West, 2 sisters, 1 nephew, and 1 daughter in
law. Visitation will be held on Sunday August 3, 2014 from
2-6pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525 Burlingham Rd.
Pine Bush, NY. A funeral mass will take place on Monday
August 4, 2014 at 10am at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church in
Mahopac, NY. Burial will follow in Calverton National Cemetery,
Calverton, NY. Arrangements entrusted to the William M. Gagan
