Obituary of Anne P. White

Anne P. White Pine Bush, NY Anne P. White, retired nurse, and longtime resident of the area, passed away on Thursday June 16, 2011 at St. Teresa's Nursing Home in Middletown. She was 76. The daughter of the late James Kirwan and Sheila Cooney Kirwan, she was born on May 3, 1935 in Ballinrobe, Co. Mayo Ireland. Anne worked as an Orthopedic Nurse at the Regional Hospital in Galway, Ireland. She came to the United Sates in 1970 and worked for New Rochelle Hospital. Anne married, her husband, Christopher White in 1971 and then moved up to the area in 1973 where she worked at Southwinds Retirement Center in Middletown, and then practiced nursing on her own taking care of patients on a more personal level until her retirement in 2000. Anne was a member of the Church of the Infant Saviour, and the Friendly Sons and Daughters of St. Patrick of Orange County. Survivors include her husband of 39 years, Christopher at home, her sons; Shane White and his wife Stacey of Chester, and Christopher White and his girlfriend Kelly Geraghty of Middletown, grandchildren; Owen, Gracie, and Sophie, sister Cara Killeen of Ireland, and many nieces and nephews. Anne is predeceased by her sister, Bernadette Bacchus. Visitation will be held on Sunday June 19, 2011 from 2-5pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525 Burlingham Rd. Pine Bush NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday June 20, 2011 at 10:00am the Church of the Infant Saviour with Fr. Kevin Gallagher officiating. Burial will take place in the family plot in New Prospect Cemetery.
