Obituary of Russell Wood

Russell W. Wood Sr. "Woody" Bloomingburg, NY Russell "Woody" Wood Sr., a lifetime resident of Bloomingburg passed away on Friday December 27, 2013 at Orange Regional Medical Center in Wallkill, surrounded by his loving family. He was 67 years old. The son of the late Raymond Wood and Hazel Robbins Wood, Russell was born on May 4, 1946 in Middletown, NY. Woody was the founder of R. Wood and Son Inc. of Bloomingburg, as well as the Past Captain of the Bloomingburg Fire Department and was a member of the Mountainview United Methodist Church. Woody was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. A Family statement reads " He was hard working, full of life and lived his to the fullest. He will be greatly missed." He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Lorraine, at home, daughter, Kim Conley and her husband Todd, son, Russell Wood Jr and his wife Peggy, granddaughters, Amanda Rohloff and Alexyss Conley, grandsons, Russell Wood III and Tyler Wood, one sister Janet Cramer and her husband Harry all of Bloomingburg, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Russell was pre-deceased by one brother, Raymond Wood. Visitation will be held on Monday December 30, 2013 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525 Burlingham Rd, Pine Bush, NY 12655. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday December 31, 2013 at 11:00AM at the Mountainview United Methodist Church, 35 North Street, Bloomingburg, NY 12721 with Pastor Robert B. Hewitt officiating. Burial will follow in Bloomingburg Cemetery.
