Obituary of William H. McVicker Sr.

William H. McVicker Sr. Pine Bush, NY William H. McVicker, Sr. 80, of Pine Bush, NY passed away quietly at his home on Tuesday October 13, 2015. The son of the late Laddie McVicker and Evelyn Chaffee, he was born in Manhattan on October 4, 1935. Growing up in Long Island, Bill joined the army and served his county from 1958-1960. He moved to Pine Bush after marrying his army buddy’s sister on December 13, 1959. He was a Scout Master, and he, with his wife, Patricia, were foster parents of over 120 children. Bill worked for the NYS DOT. He was an elder at Circleville Presbyterian Church for many years and was honored by becoming an Elder Emeritus this past year. Survivors include his beloved wife of 55 years, Patricia Yarwood McVicker; children, Erna Tremper (Doug), William McVicker Jr. (Tracy), Robert McVicker (Maureen), Dean McVicker, Tammy McVicker, Victoria McVicker, Raymond Rogers (Janet). He is also survived by his 20 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by a great-grandchild Madison Tremper. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2015 from 1-3 and 5 -7 pm at Circleville Presbyterian Church. 890 Goshen Turnpike, Circleville, NY 10919. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 19, at 11:00am. Interment will follow at the church’s cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make all donations to Circleville Presbyterian Church.
