Obituary of Adam R. Torchio

Please share a memory of Adam to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Adam R. Torchio Pine Bush, NY Adam Torchio, 49, a mastermind mechanic and modern day MacGyver, brought sudden eternal peace to his restless brain on February 5,2016. Longtime resident of Pine Bush, NY, Adam was the proud owner of Torch Performance, where he challenged any competitor of his custom builds to “feel the pain”. Adam was an adrenaline junky with an addiction to motor-sports and taking first place- “good” was never good enough. His presence will be greatly missed on the tracks. Many will agree, his life mirrored his work: hard, tedious, precise and powered by high-octane. A kind hearted soul, gifted with creative genius, Adam was the protector of the fort- an exterminator of squirrels or any vermin that dare to “infiltrate the perimeter”. He found the most happiness in the woods as an avid sportsman with a particular love of fishing. When he wasn’t hunting down various game, he was gaming others with pranks and an innate ability to push buttons. He was a self-proclaimed gourmet chef and grill master who could dish out some mean morning “eggies” and he never missed a meal. He frequented Pine Bush restaurants with his local “dawgs” and was always up for some small talk. Adam was a talented man and bearer of many titles- he was an extensive mechanic, heavy equipment operator, teacher, protector, friend, Son, Brother, Nephew, Husband, Dad, Uncle and Pop-Pop. Adam always ventured the unbeaten path, but it is with great sadness that we cannot follow him on this journey. We will miss his sarcastic humor, fist pounds, dry wit, sideways smirk, and “Sweeeet!” contraptions built from minimal scraps. Adam is survived by his superwoman wife, Lori Torchio, his daughters; Rebecca Watson and husband George; Nichole Torchio and partner Orlando, Brittaney Torchio and partner Chris; his grandson, Logan “Dooder” Watson; his parents, Roberta McLaughlin and Carl Torchio; his brothers; Christopher Torchio and wife Terri, David Torchio and partner Dana; his niece , Melissa Torchio; his aunts and uncles, Harry and Cookie Torchio, Philip Torchio and partner Maria, Pierina and Ken Graebe, Sue and Bill Monahan; several cousins, relatives and countless friends, whom he loved to spend his time with. Family and Friends may gather from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday February 12th at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc., 1525 Burlingham Rd., Pine Bush, NY.
