Obituary of Elaine T. Weed

Elaine Terwilliger Comerford Padden Weed Wallkill, NY Elaine T. Weed a retired clerk for Shawangunk Correctional Facility and a lifelong resident of the area, passed away on Monday March 27, 2017 at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh. She was 91. The daughter of the late Eugene A. Terwilliger and Ethel DuBois Terwilliger she was born on April 28, 1925 in Wallkill, NY. Elaine was a member of the Historical Society of Shawangunk and Gardiner, The Shawangunk Reformed Church, The Iroquois Hunting and Fishing Club, and was a published author of “One Room Schools of the Town of Shawangunk” Survivors include her daughters; Jean Comerford-Carroll and her husband Peter of Texas, and Lori Schmidt and her husband Al of Wallkill, son; Robert Comerford and his wife Eileen of Tennessee, 7 grandchildren; Todd Comerford, Sean Carroll, Tammy Comerford, Troy Comerford, Kevin Carroll, Michael Schmidt, and Christopher Schmidt, 2 great-grandchildren; Isabella Carroll and Sophia Carroll, sister; Regina DePuy of Gardiner. Elaine is further survived by many nieces and nephews and is predeceased by her husbands, Harold Comerford, John Padden and Edward Weed and her brother, E. Allison Terwilliger. Visitation will be held on Friday March 31, 2017 from 3-7pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525 Burlingham Rd Pine Bush. Funeral services will be at 10am on Saturday April 1, 2017 at the Shawangunk Reformed Church with Pastor Howard Dalton officiating. Burial will take place in Bruynswick Rural Cemetery.
