Wallace Hoag
Pine Bush, NY

Sorry folks, Wally has left the building.  I won’t be at the funeral, but I hope to see you again many, many years from now upstairs. That is, if Saint Peter lets me in. But if I’m not there I’ll be downstairs at the barbecue. Born in New York City, long time resident of New City and Spring Valley in Rockland County, Spring Valley High School graduate-Class of 1950. My parents predecease me, mother Helen Olsen Hoag and Sven R. Hoag.  They were long residents of New City Park in Rockland County and active in the Masons and Rainbow Girls in Pearl River, NY. We moved to the Town of Crawford in 1988 and have resided there ever since. I am survived by my loving wife of 52 ½ years, Janet I. (LaVoie) Hoag of Pine Bush, our daughter Ingrid Pochapsky and son in law Chopps of Monroe, sister Ann Sylvia Bogusz and her husband Robert of Wolf Lake, and other numerous relatives. You all know who you are. I am happy to say that I had many good friends. I served in a U.S Army Ordnance Unit for 2 years active duty during the Korean War and 7 years inactive duty.  I was fortunate to be self-employed most of my life, starting as a kid mowing lawns and shoveling snow. As a Machinist, I opened up my own machine shop, then a motorcycle dealership (Indian and Jawa), next an auto radiator repair business and finally an antique vehicle restoration shop.  The following is also a snapshot of my life- During my life I have been a member and/or officer of the following organizations: The American Defense Preparedness Association, National Rifle Association, National Federation of Independent Business, Ramapo Motorcycle Club since 1951, American Motorcycle Association, Antique Motorcycle Club of America, Ramapo Valley Chapter of the Antique Automobile Club of America, Antique Automobile Club of America, Model A’s of Rockland, Antique Truck Club of America, Catskill Fire-Cats, and the Society for Preservation and Appreciation of Antique Motor Fire Apparatus in America. I had a good time folks, thank you and good-bye!  Family and friends may gather on Sunday July 23, 2017 from 2-6pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525 Burlingham Rd Pine Bush, NY.
