March 24, 1985 - November 28, 2017

Benjamin Greenwald died on Tuesday, November 28, of complications resulting from end stage renal disease.  He was 32. The son of Barbara A. Doty and Martin L. Greenwald.  Ben was a lifelong resident of Thompson Ridge. He attended Pine Bush High School and Tompkins Cortland Community College in Dryden, NY, where he took courses in broadcast journalism and was often asked to serve as announcer for sporting events. Ben's passion, beginning in early childhood, was sports which he followed extensively. The Yankees and Giants were his teams, yet his interest and expertise covered the spectrum of teams and sports. He took great delight in Fantasy competition with friends. Ben is survived by his parents and his brother David as well as numbers of out-of-state aunts, uncles and cousins, and by many friends. He will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 4:00 on Sunday afternoon December 3, 2017  at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc.1525 Burlingham Rd  Pine Bush NY.  Service and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Those wishing to honor Ben's memory are asked to consider registering as organ donors if they have not done so. Information is available at local motor vehicle departments or donatelife.org.
