Obituary of Ruth E. Doty

Ruth E. Doty (nee Cox) Pine Bush, NY Ruth E. Doty, a Retired Teacher, and longtime resident of the area, passed away on Thursday April 3, 2014 at Suncoast Hospice Care Center in Palm Harbor, Florida. She was 88. The daughter of the late Fred G. Cox and Ella Reep Cox, she was born on February 2, 1926 in Yakima, Washington. Ruth was a graduate of Washington State College in Pullman, Washington; Home Education Teacher in Arlington Washington, and Teacher at the Twin Towers School in Middletown, NY. Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Bruce Doty, whom she met and married at Pearl Harbor in Oahu, Hawaii on July 10, 1954, her daughter; Nani Bautochka and her husband John, son; Mark Doty and his wife Linda, four grandchildren; Casey and Amy Doty, Sarah and Emily Bautochka. Ruth is predeceased by her son, Ted L. Doty. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday April 26, 2014 at 11am at the Hopewell Presbyterian Church in Thompson Ridge with Pastor David Widmer officiating. Burial of ashes will take place in Hopewell Cemetery immediately following.
