Warren J. Moore, a Self Employed Contractor and longtime resident of the area passed away on Friday March 30, 2018 at Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown.  He was 85.  The son of the late William Moore and Louise LeGrum Moore he was born on August 3, 1932 in Queens, NY.  Warren was the CEO of Warren J. Moore Building Contractors in Walker Valley and was personally involved in the construction and completion of the Verkeerder Kill Park on Rte 52 in Pine Bush. Warren was also a longtime standing member of the Walker Valley Fire Company for 57 years starting on January 5, 1961 till the time of his passing.  He had served as Lieutenant from 1963- 1964, then as Captain from 1965 -1966, 1st Assistant Chief from 1967-1973 and then achieved the rank of Chief from 1974-1977. Warren would take on any job to help his community and the members of the Walker Valley Fire Company and even though he is gone, he will never be forgotten and will always be in our memories.  He will be missed by all who knew him and the members who worked with him. In Warren’s memory and honor, accountability tag #35 will be retired. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Joan at home, children, Warren (Rita), Richard (Rosie), Donald (Christine), Jerry, Nancy (Lance), and Suzy (Jon), 15 Grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. Warren is further survived by several nieces and nephews, and is predeceased by his brother William Moore, and his sister, Gloria Felli. Friends and family may gather on Friday April 6, 2018 at the Walker Valley Fire House 3679 State Route 52, Walker Valley, NY from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Firematic Services will be conducted at 7:30pm.
