Eugene A. Olsen, a retired Ship Captain for American President Lines and longtime resident of the area, passed away on Thursday June 14, 2018 at Vassar Brothers Hospital in Poughkeepsie. He was 89. The son of the late Edward Olsen and Margaret McKiernan Olsen he was born on July 19, 1928 in Jersey City, NJ. A Veteran, Eugene served his country in the US Navy from 1954-1956 and reached the Rank of Lieutenant. Eugene was a Free Mason and member the  Masonic Lodge in NJ.  Survivors include his wife of 63 years Jane and several nieces an nephews. Visitation will be held on Thursday June 21, 2018 from 2-3pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525 Burlingham Rd Pine Bush NY 12566.  Funeral services will be offered at 3pm with Pastor Michael Lonto officiating.
