Catherine West Smith, a retired Accounts Payable & Payroll clerk and long time resident of Royersford, PA with the last four years in Midland, Michigan, passed away at the Woodland Hospice House - Morey Bereavement Center in Mount Pleasant. She was 75. The daughter of Robert W. Ritter, Sr. and Agnes Peidl Ritter, she was born May 7, 1942 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Catherine loved her grandchildren and loved hearing about their adventures and had a special love for animals. Survivors include her children: Joseph Smith his wife JoAnn of Midland, Michigan, Steven Smith of Chalfont, Pennsylvania. 5 grandchildren: Seneca, Grant, Haley, Kent and Collin Smith. Loving sister and best friend Linda Stofflet and husband Ronald of Oley, Pennsylvania; sister Rosmary Ebert and husband Volker of Knorrendorf, Germany; brother Robert W. Ritter, Jr. and wife Cheryl of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Many nieces, nephews & cousins. Catherine was predeceased by her husband James W. Smith and grandson Blake Smith. A private graveside ceremony and burial will be at New Prospect Cemetery in Pine Bush, New York. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Lung Association via lung.org and select memorial gift.
