Catherine R. Phillips, 74, of Rhinebeck, NY entered into rest on August 6, 2019 surrounded by her family.
Mother of Michelle Ludas, Christina Ludas and Rebecca Ludas, she was born on May 18, 1945 in Corpus Christi, Texas.  She was the daughter of the late Rosemary Rooney Ferrara and James A. Phillips.  She was a longtime resident of the Hudson Valley and worked as a Registered Nurse for over 50 years.  Cathy is fondly remembered as a school nurse in the Pine Bush School District.  She was a loving and caring mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend to all whose lives she touched.  Undeterred by her challenges with cancer, Catherine loved and lived life to the fullest.  She was a devoted naturalist and artist.  Catherine is survived by her three loving daughters and their spouses: Michelle Kelly and husband Kenneth Kelly of Bloomingburg, NY; Christina Ludas and husband Robert Wogan of Kingston, NY; Rebecca Santopietro and husband Joseph Santopietro of New Hampton, NY.  In addition are her six beloved grandchildren: Lauren and Dylan Kelly, Olivia, Violet and Reid Wogan and Carmine Santopietro.She is also survived by her siblings, Eileen Phillips of Pine Bush, NY; Robert and Cynthia Ferrara of Cable WI; Irene Ferrara of North Andover, MA and Ann Marie and Michael Hanbury of Middletown, NY as well as several nieces and nephews.  She is predeceased by her sister Joan Ferrara.   Visitation will be held on Friday, August 9, 2019 from 4-7pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc, 1525 Burlingham Road, Pine Bush, NY 12566. A prayer service will be held at 6:30pm.
