Obituary of Theresa Elia

Theresa Elia Pine Bush, NY Theresa Elia, a home maker and 12 year resident of the area passed away on Sunday November 16, 2008 at Orange Regional Medical Center at Arden Hill in Goshen. She was 75. The daughter of the late Joseph Dougherty and Agnes Tierney Dougherty she was born on December 12, 1932 in Brooklyn NY. A family statement reads”Theresa's passion was her family. She was a devoted wife and mother, but most of all grandmother. She attended every football game, concert, and play to watch her grandsons. They were the joy of her life. The family would like to thank Fred and Susan Goldstein and Frank and Mary Catania for all their love and support throughout Theresa’s illness. Theresa is a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, the Pine Bush and Walker Valley Seniors, and member of the Church of the Infant Saviour. Survivors include her loving husband of 56 years Alex at home, her loving son Alex and his wife Robin of Walden, 2 loving grandsons, Matthew and Christopher also of Walden. 2 loving sisters, Kitty Pellagrino of Queens and Agnes Bettineschi of Island Park, LI. And many loving nieces and nephews Theresa is predeceased by her brother Joseph, and sisters Connie, Marge, and Francis. Visitation will be held on Wednesday November 19, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525 Burlingham Rd. Pine Bush, NY. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday November 20, 2008 at 10:00am at the Church of the Infant Saviour, Rte 302 Pine Bush, .with Fr. Kevin Gallagher officiating Burial will take place in the Orange County Veterans Cemetery, Craigville Rd in Goshen.
