William W. Wegniak, a Contractor for Walter Wegniak & Son Construction and longtime resident of the area passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Thursday July 23, 2020. He was 73. The son of the late Walter Wegniak and Helena Kolodziej Wegniak, he was born on May 9, 1947 in Hamburg, Germany. A Veteran, William served his county during the Vietnam War and received the rank of SP5 before his discharge in 1972. He was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Montgomery, and a graduate of Valley Central High School. William was a family man. He loved his children and grandchildren and would never miss a sports event that they were competing in. William was a devoted husband of 44 years to his wife, the late Anita Schultz Wegniak who predeceased him on March 16, 2016. Survivors include his children, Michael Wegniak of Middletown, Sherri Andrikut and her husband Michael of Bloomingburg, and Andrea Morris and her husband Kiehl of Middletown. Grandchildren, Michaela, Michael Jr., and Emma, brother, Ken Wegniak of Florida, and sister, Terry Wegniak also of Florida. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
