Uncle Mike and my father opperated their Thompson Ridge dairy farm partnership and lived as neighbors for decades. Our families gathered over the years for Sunday dinners, holidays, and major life events. Uncle Mike used his sense of humor as part of his approach to life; he could also be a keen resource in sorting through life's more thorny and political concerns. He knew the local peoples, local conflicts, and had a studied historical perspective. When I turned to him for his wisdom, he shared thoughts that were informed, reliable and helpful. He was an intelligent, hard-working, handsome man with a beautiful family, a bit of a tease to his peers, a Veteran and involved citizen, an active member of his church community, a multi-term Town Supervisor and a long-lived fellow.
My love, deepest sympathies and condolences to Aunt Ellen, my cousins Phil, Ken, Chris and their families.
