Obituary of David Philip Pondi

David Philip Pondi Pine Bush, NY David Philip Pondi, a lifelong resident of the area and self employed landscaper, passed away peacefully on Saturday May 19, 2012 after a courageous battle with his illness. He was 54. The son of Stephen M. Pondi and the late Virginia H. Seabury Pondi, he was born on November 3, 1957 in Middletown, NY. David was a past member of the Dwaarkill Rod and Gun Club, and affiliated with the Hopewell Presbyterian Church in Thompson Ridge. A family statement reads: "David was a loving son, husband, father, brother and uncle who had a wonderful sense of humor, loved the outdoors and nature. He was an avid horse shoe player and his stories will live on forever!" Survivors include his wife Susan A. Pondi at home, children; David R. Pondi of Pine Bush, Melissa Pondi Jennings and her husband Justin of the USMC, and Michael C.A. Pondi of Pine Bush, brothers; Bruce A. Pondi of Bloomingburg, and Stephen M. Pondi of Pine Bush, sisters; Theresa V. Pondi and her husband Raul Hernandez of Scotchtown, Deborah Pondi Lucca of Middletown, Vanessa A. Shaffrey and her husband Patrick of Bloomingburg, Alexis M. Engels and her husband Thomas of Pine Bush, Michele C. Pondi-Salik and her husband David of Stratford , CT, and Dineen E. Fiscella and her husband Frank of N.C, numerous nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins. Visitation will be held on Tuesday May 22, 2012 from 6-9pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525 Burlingham Rd Pine Bush. Funeral Services will be offered on Wednesday May 23, 2012 at 10am at Hopewell Presbyterian Church in Thompson Ridge with Pastor Robin Joy Hogle officiating.
